Stories are an integral part of every person's childhood. My childhood mostly revolved around Panchatantra stories especially the story of The Rabbit and the Tortoise race and the Crocodile and the Monkey, which are even popular today. The famous line to start every story - Once upon a time - is still cherished by myself. Kids like to immerse themselves in these fantasy or imaginary world where there is always a happy ending. Augmented with attractive pictures, stories provide simple understanding of human life. And kids never get tired of hearing the same story over and over again. So parents should be patient and calm with their kids and should not hesitate if a story has to be repeated several times. Plus repetition has also shown to increase the kids vocabulary.

New Paradigm in Parenting of Toddlers
Are you a mother of a toddler? Is your toddler home bound since March? Have you reached your saturation point on being calm with your toddler? Are you scratching your head to find new ways of keeping your young ones occupied?
I am sure all the mothers either working or not are facing this challenge post Covid outbreak and struggling to help their children adapt to the new normal. Their patience level has gone down and temper levels have increased. It is a task keeping kids engaged in a fruitful activity for a longer period of time. As most of the stocked up toys and books have been opened and nothing new is left with the parents, now is the time to think out of the box and bring the creativity to the table.

Time Capsule - COVID-19
We are living in unprecedented times at the moment and the uncertainty over the elimination of Covid-19 still looms at large. Lockdown 2.0 was initiated by our honorable PM last week and the overall lockdown period has been extended to 40 days. This prompted me to prepare a generic Time Capsule that everyone can use and to preserve their key moments. Even in this darkest hour, I am sure we have managed to create some moments with our family that we would like to cherish in future.

Activities to do with Toddlers During Lockdown
Animal Toys Bathing Activity
It was a fun filled water activity which Shravya enjoyed a lot today. Well water activities are her all time favourite. You guys will see us more on social media due to the quarantine days ahead.
I asked Shravya to clean all the wild animals and in today’s time teaching kids the importance of hygiene is needed. So i gave her two bowls one with soap water and one clean water. I had mixed up all the animals in a tray and asked her to pick only wild animals from the lot. So in this way I taught her two concepts altogether.

My Sri Lankan Diaries - Part 1
During my childhood, Sri Lanka was largely connected to our ancient mythology Ramayana, where Lord Rama went to kill Ravana. As I grew into my teens, the perception was changed to beautiful beaches, amazing resorts and delicious coconut water. But Sri Lanka offers so much more than what I knew during my adolescent and I am glad to choose this destination for my early 2020 vacation.

So I am sharing a list of such toys where children can have fun and learn at the same time.
